1. Working Environment Requirements
- Ambient Temperature: -20℃ to +40℃.
- Relative Humidity: ≤90% at 25℃.
- Power Supply Voltage Deviation: ±5% of the rated voltage (362V–399V).
- When the power supply voltage is between 342V–361V, or ambient temperature exceeds 35℃, or operating altitude exceeds 1000 meters, the maximum load capacity of the suspended platform must not exceed 80% of its rated capacity.
- Operation is not suitable in corrosive environments (e.g., acidic or alkaline vapors). Wind speed at the job site should not exceed 8.3m/s (equivalent to Beaufort scale 5).
- Adequate lighting of at least 150 lux must be provided for night work.
2. Installation Precautions
- The distance between the inner sides of the two suspension mechanisms must match the platform length and must not be shorter, to ensure proper safety lock function.
- The front beam’s extension length should be between 1.1m and 1.3m, and the distance between front and rear supports should be maximized. All counterweights must be evenly distributed and securely installed.
- All bolts and nuts (including wire rope clamps) must be tightened securely. The lock pin on the hoist installation shaft must be firmly locked.
- Cable plugs must be correctly aligned before inserting into the control box socket. Do not force insertion to avoid damage.
- The power supply must include a neutral wire. Failure to do so may cause the leakage circuit breaker or electromagnetic brake to malfunction.
3. Daily Inspection Items (Part 1)

Suspended Platform
1. Check for deformation, damage to floorboards, barriers, or guardrails.
2. Inspect welds for cracks or detachment.
3. Ensure all connections (rails, brackets, base frame) are secure.
Hoist
4. Confirm secure connection between hoist and mounting bracket.
5. Check for oil leakage.
6. Inspect the electromagnetic brake clearance for correctness.

Wire Rope
7. Inspect for damage (e.g., broken wires, kinks, corrosion, flat spots, excessive wear), deformation, and if it meets discard criteria.
8. Ensure rope is free from oil and contaminants.
9. Verify the connection to suspension mechanism is firm and rope clamps are not loose.
Suspension Mechanism
10. All parts must be firmly connected, and pulleys locked.
11. Check for missing or damaged counterweights.
12. Confirm accurate spacing and secure positioning of both suspension structures.

Safety Lock
13. Test the swing arm for flexibility; ensure there’s no sticking.
14. Test the manual and automatic rope-lock functions.
Electrical Control System
15. Check wires, cables, plugs, and sockets for damage.
16. Ensure limit switches and AC contactors operate normally.
17. Confirm grounding and leakage protection devices function properly.
18. Test the selector switch and brake button.

Platform Operation

6. Operational Safety Reminders
Before Use
- Inspect platform structure, hoist, joints, and suspension mechanism for wear, corrosion, or cracks.
- Ensure counterweights and wire rope installation are correct.
- Replace ropes that meet discard standards.
- Confirm all electrical components are intact and functioning.
During Use
- In case of tilt, level the platform by adjusting the switch to the lower side.
- When power is lost, cut off the power and use the manual descent lever to lower the platform smoothly.
- Manual descent should be coordinated from both ends to maintain balance and avoid triggering the anti-tilt safety lock.
7. Wire Rope Maintenance & Inspection
Wire ropes must be regularly maintained to prevent contamination and corrosion. Follow GB/T 5972-2006 standards for inspection and retirement. Immediate replacement is required if:
- There’s unlaying, knotting, flattening, or severe bending.
- More than 5 broken wires in one lay length.
- Significant corrosion, reduced diameter (by 6%), or 40% wear on outer wires.
- Heat or arc damage is detected.
8. Safety Operation Rules for Working at Height (Part 1)
- Only certified personnel in good health and trained for height work may operate or maintain the gondola.
- Workers must wear safety harnesses connected to independent lifelines and wear helmets.
- Operators must study the user manual and conduct inspections before use.
- Never overload the platform. Consider wind pressure and reduce load accordingly when beams extend further or heights are excessive.
- Never modify or disable the safety lock swing arm.
- Devices over 500W must use an independent power source.
- Maintain a safe distance from high-voltage lines and follow local regulations.
- Never adjust the safety lock or hoist when suspended mid-air unless done by trained personnel under secure conditions.
- Avoid operation in dusty, corrosive, or severe weather conditions (e.g., rain, winds > Grade 5).
- Platform length must not exceed manufacturer specifications.
9. Safety Operation Rules (Part 2)
- All repositioning, disassembly, or component handling must be conducted from a safe zone.
- The gondola is not to be used as a passenger or cargo elevator.
- In case of hoist malfunction or rope jamming, stop operation immediately and evacuate.
- Restrict pedestrian access below the gondola. Install warning signs and follow national construction safety regulations.
- Platform tilt over 15cm must be corrected promptly.
- Do not cover guardrails with wind-blocking or flammable materials.
- Keep ropes free from bends, contaminants, or welding residues.
- Use the correct type of wire rope and adhere to GB/T 5972-2006 discard criteria.
- Always disconnect power before relocating the platform.
- Disconnect the aviation plug only after cutting the power.
- Keep the hoist, lock, and electrical box clean and dry. Lower the platform after daily use and power off.
10. Applications of Suspended Platforms
Suspended access platforms are vertically movable devices used for facade works on buildings via wire ropes and suspension mechanisms. Key applications include:
- Exterior wall plastering, tiling, and painting.
- Glass curtain wall installation and cleaning.
- Elevator shaft work, ship maintenance, tank and silo servicing.
- Inspection and maintenance of chimneys, bridges, dams, and other large structures.
11. Hoist Rope Jamming and Housing Cracks
- Replace the cracked housing instead of welding repairs.
- When servicing at height, lock the safety lock manually, wear a harness, and replace damaged wire ropes.
- For magnesium alloy housings, replace the entire housing set due to poor machining consistency.
- Fault Analysis:
- Use of low-quality materials (e.g., magnesium alloy) increases failure risk.
- Poor machining precision can cause misalignment and jamming.
- Low-flexibility ropes jam easily; recommended: “Fasten” brand ropes.
- Inadequate maintenance causes dirt buildup and rope misalignment.
12. Common Safety Lock Issues
- Check that suspension spacing matches platform length (e.g., 6m platform requires 6–6.1m spacing).
- Worn rollers (often made of low-durability materials) need replacing. Recommended: 45# steel rollers with heat treatment.
- Fatigued torsion springs cause reset failure. Listen for click sounds during reset.
- Improper mounting hole positions from manufacturers must be reported and resolved.
- Ensure safety rope angle meets the national standard of 3–8 degrees; our products are calibrated to 6 degrees post-heat treatment.
⚠ Warning: Never weld or forcefully fix safety lock swing arms to disable locking – this is a major safety hazard and strictly prohibited.
13. Motor Overheating in the Hoist
- Check brake pad clearance under the motor housing.
- Inspect power supply for phase loss.
- Examine cable for exposed or broken wires.
- Swap plug terminals to test rectifier function.
